How to assemble an e-bike ordered online yourself? That sounds very challenging, doesn't it? Open Google Chrome and type in: “How do I assemble my e-bike myself?” Tap on a website, here's how. To mount the pedals and adjust the handlebars and saddle, you need the following tools: a pair of scissors, a couple of Allen keys (four, five or six millimeters), some assembly grease, a pedal wrench and a torque wrench. Then follow the step-by-step instructions: define the geometry of the frame, build the bike frame, align the handlebars, adjust the saddle... Oh man! Too complicated!
E-bike YouTuber Jörg (@E-Bike Camping & Motorradtourer) shows us in his video how easy it can be to assemble a Grundig e-bike. As most of the components of this bike are already pre-assembled, he starts directly with the handlebar assembly. “It's totally easy and self-explanatory once you've done it a few times.”
“It's very important that you don't tighten the screws until you can't do it any more, but do everything with feeling. Normally with a torque wrench. ”
The bike saddle is very easy to install, insert the saddle, fasten it and voila!
Also, don't forget, this e-bike has hydraulic disc brakes, which is very good, and there's a locking clip inside that you have to push out. Otherwise you can't use the brakes.
Finally, fit the pedals, lights, other small parts and the battery. Make small adjustments according to your own preferences. That's it! Let's go!
“Successfully completed a 12km test ride and I'm thrilled. Rides really well, rock solid. The decisive factor for me is always the torque sensor. If it works really well, i.e. it responds quickly, and even if you stop for a moment and then continue pedaling, it reacts again immediately. And has a nice reduction ratio in the gears. Then it's just fun,” says Jörg.
